Playlist for April 1-7, 2024

Quick playlist highlights:

– Knocked Loose is really setting the tone with their singles. New album out May 10. We’ll see if they have what it takes to dethrone Boundaries.

– I could have picked any Boundaries song – they’re all so good. But I want to highlight one of the more optimistic ones. Interesting use of Marcus Vik (vocalist of Invent Animate).

– Erra released a new album and it’s still taking time to grow on me. I’ll probably review it for next week’s newsletter because Erra had my number one album in 2021, but I wasn’t really drawn to any particular song to highlight in this week’s playlist so that’s not a great sign.

– I’m trying to figure out my thoughts on Alpha Wolf too. I need to review it before Dealer releases their album on May 10 because they are in direct competition with each other.

– Ingested‘s new album is great. These guys have released a new album every two years since 2009 (except for once when they took three years). Crazy work ethic and very consistent in their sound. Check this out if you’re trying to get into death metal. It’s way more palatable than bands like Sanguisugabogg.

– Filth put out a new album and it’s a lot of fun. Really cool to see their overall style shine through the heaviness.

– Take a journey through the stars with cosmic black metal band Vorga.
